Matteo: It’s just career and triathlon for now

Matteo Guidicelli is not keen on getting into a new relationship yet even if he is romantically linked to “Paraiso” co-star Jessy Mendiola.

“Jessy’s a really cool girl and I’m very blessed to work with her. Pero for now, I’m just concentrating and working so hard for “Paraiso.” But you know, doors are always open. Basta the first priority is “Paraiso,”” Matteo said in an interview at the 2nd SunPIOLOGY run and Star Magic Gives Back concert at Venice Piazza on Saturday, November 24.

Matteo shared that he has been juggling his schedule between showbiz and triathlon, which leaves him no time for love.

He also has good words for Jessy.

“Jessy and I work very well together. She’s a very sweet girl.”

Does he see romance in the horizon?

“Hindi natin alam, eh. Jessy is really a wonderful person. Anything can happen pero, for now, I’m really concentrated with my soap. Iyon na muna ang priority ko talaga.”

Matteo has been attending triathlon events in and outside the country, such as the 70.3 Ironman in Kona, Hawaii. He also joined the  SunPIOLOGY run together with Piolo Pascual and Xian Lim.

“It’s very nice to spread the word of fitness. SunPIOLOGY is also for a very good cause. It’s a charity run, aside from promoting fitness and healthy lifestyle, so I always promote something like this,” Matteo said.

Friends with Maja

Matteo maintains he and ex-girlfriend Maja Salvador are good friends.

“Maja and I are okay, we talk. We’re in a friendship relationship, iyon lang. Basta my concentration is Paraiso talaga and I don’t want to lose my focus. There’s no problem about being friends again. I mean I’m happy we’re friends because I don’t like making enemies. I’m really proud and masaya talaga ako na magkaibigan kami talaga.”

Matteo sometimes guest co-hosts in Sarah Geronimo’s show “Sarah G Live.” He is vocal about his dream of working with Sarah someday.

“Sana I can sing with her one day, that’s my dream. Nagkatrabaho kami before sa movie. It’s always nice to work with her because she’s very true, natural person.”
