Jason Abalos: Break-up with Jewel Mische was a mutual decision

Like his ex-girlfriend, Jason Abalos is mum on the cause of his break-up with Jewel Mische. But the Kapamilya artist said their split was a mutual decision.

Jason added it was an amicable break-up.

“Sa amin, nagkataon lang na meron kaming iba’t ibang priorities na di nagsasakto. Pero wala namang sama ng loob. Nagkakausap pa nga kami di ba,” the actor told the press during the 2nd Sunpiology Run and Star Magic Gives Back concert in Taguig City on Saturday, November 24.

He admitted communicating with Jewel every so often. Is Jason open to reconciling with the former Kapuso actress?

“Mahirap sabihin sa ngayon, e. Ngayon, hindi ko pa iniisip yung ganyang mga nakaraan sa amin kasi mahirap pa isipin. Mas nae-enjoy ko yung buhay ko ngayon.”

He added, “Di mo masasabi kasi kung ano ang mangyayari in the future, di ba? Kung ano man ang ibigay sayo, yun na yun.”

Again, like Jewel, the “Endo” star is happy with his status.

“Sa pagiging single, mas nae-enjoy ko ngayon kasi nagkakaroon ako ng time sa pamilya ko,” he said. “Sa ngayon, wala (akong dinedate). Ang importante, masaya tayong lahat.”

Soft spot for indie films

Jason may not be working on anything with his home network ABS-CBN since his afternoon show “Precious Hearts Presents: Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin” ended.

Yet that doesn’t mean he remained idle. Since his last show, he has worked on two independent films, including Adolf Alix’s “Death March”with Sam Milby.

The actor admitted he has soft spot for independent films. “Doon ako nabigyan ng pagkakataon, e,” Jason said.

The Kapamilya actor won a number of acting awards for his role in the 2007 Cinemalaya film “Endo.”
“Nung una ako sa TV, medyo sablay yung acting ko. Tapos nung nag indie film ako, nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon. May nagturo sa akin kung paano yung tama,” he explained.

Jason further said, “Sa indie film kasi, tulong-tulong, e. Saka maganda kasi mapaghahandaan ninyo yung bawat eksena. Pag TV kasi, ang bilis, ito na agad yung eksena.”

Jason hopes he gets more projects next year.

Is he willing to work with his ex?

“Oo naman. Pag trabaho, trabaho naman tayo,” he said
