As a taxpayer, Kapamilya actress Judy Ann Santos feels disappointed over the alleged misuse of government funds.

The pork barrel scam frustrates her because Judy Ann wants assurance that taxes are used for the good of the people.

So, it makes me think, ‘What happened doon sa ibinayad ko?’,” Judy Ann said at the press launch of her newest endorsement, Champion Fabri-con at Makati Shangri-la Hotel on Monday, September 23.

She added, “Hindi siya nakakairita, nakakabuwisit siya.”

Right to know

Judy Ann said Filipinos have the right to know where the taxes go. She placed 97th in BIR's Top 500 Individual Tax Payers for Taxable Year 2009. Last January, the Court of Tax Appeals acquitted Judy Ann in the tax evasion complaint filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

“Lahat tayo nagbabayad ng taxes natin and we try to pay kung ano yung dapat nating bayaran.

Appeal to politicians

She called on politicians “to be responsible.”

Aside from collecting taxes, she hopes government will be as vigilant in charging those who plunder and commit acts of corruption.

“BIR’s just doing their job, collecting taxes. They all just give it to the government.

On being fit and staying healthy

The mother of two looks fabulous with her fit body, which she has been maintaining for years now. Judy Ann shared that she is into various exercises such as zumba, anti-gravity, muay thai, running and boxing; and is now into 360 circuit training.

“Mukhang mahirap lang pakinggan kasi parang nakakatakot, pero once you try it out, masaya siya. With 360 kasi, it’s basically crossfit. It’s a total body workout, for 30 minutes, you’re done already. So parang perfect talaga siya with me, sa schedule ko right now. It’s 30 minutes in a day and it’s a total body workout.”

Bonding time

Judy Ann shared that she tries different exercises to avoid workout plateau. She and husband Ryan Agoncillo sometimes exercise together, which is also their way of bonding.

So I try to do different exercises. Before I did muay thai, boxing, pilates, anti-gravity then zumba. Nag-biking and running rin ako,” she said.

Judy Ann, who now sports a short hair-do said she wants variety in her hairstyle.

“For the longest time, long hair ako. I did a teleserye and I just wanted a new look, a new beginning.”
