Comedian-TV host Vhong Navarro can talk about his career and parts of his personal life, but not his love life.

He doesn’t want to talk about his non-showbiz girlfriend of four years.

Hindi kasi siya showbiz kaya ayaw kong guluhin or pag-usapan ang buhay niya kasi maganda na nananahimik,” Vhong told the press at the set of “Toda Max” in ABS-CBN compound recently.

Vhong added that he kept mum about his girlfriend because a marriage annulment case (involving him and former wife Bianca Lapus) was then pending in court (the annulment was granted in 2010).

No ill feelings towards Binoe

Vhong revealed that he doesn’t take it against Robin Padilla if he decided to leave “Toda Max” to focus on the movies he is doing.

Vhong also explained that talent fee and billing weren’t the reasons why Robin left the sitcom.

The two actors keep in touch through social media. They comment on each other’s Instagram posts.

Meanwhile, Vhong is happy to work again with Ai-Ai delas Alas, who replaced Pokwang in the sitcom.

“Matagal na din kaming hindi nagkatrabaho (the last time they worked together was for Whattamen in 2001).

Staying power

Vhong feels blessed for still having projects, 20 years after he started in showbiz.

He admitted that it was not smooth-sailing at all for him.

Although he respects new talents and bit players because he used to be one himself, Vhong wants them to defer to senior stars.

Hindi porke’t sikat kayo ngayon, hanggang kailan kayo sikat?”
