Patrick Garcia will be a father for the second time. The actor, who keeps media guessing about his love life, has finally admitted that his non-showbiz girlfriend is pregnant.

“We are happily expecting a baby girl. It’s not a secret. I just don't want to talk about it because I want my private life private,” he told reporters at the press conference of ABS-CBN’s new teleserye “Apoy sa Dagat” on Tuesday, January 22.

Patrick, who has a son with Jennylyn Mercado, clarified that his girlfriend’s pregnancy is not the reason why he and the actress are having a misunderstanding.

Financial support for son Jazz

“I've always explained to Jen naman. Kasi few months ago work was scarce, wala masyado, so 'yung suporta ko kay Jazz (their son) naho-hold back pero I explained to Jen na pagdating ng salary ko, I will always give to Jazz.”

Patrick added, “Pero feeling niya siguro I was really holding back because hindi ako nakapagbigay ng two months. Pero noong third month nakapagbigay ako, pero nangyari na lahat. So sana if she was just patient and if she just believed me na what I was saying was true, sana hindi kami nagaway-away.”

Patrick hopes he and Jennylyn will resolve the issue because he wants to spend more time with their son.

“I still love my son very much, I love him very much. I love Jazz. I miss him and I want to spend many days with him because I don't want him to grow up not knowing me.”

Patrick revealed that Jennlyn’s mother helped him meet his son last Christmas.

“Tita Lydia advised me na 'yung problema namin ni Jen kami lang ang makakaayos. So I'm just waiting for the right timing na I have to approach Jen and tell her na we should talk and settle this.”

Patrick hopes to settle his differences with Jennylyn once she has calmed down.

“Gusto ko everything is okay, 'yung wala na siyag masyadong galit. One day her heart will soften and she will allow me to see our son again.”
