Maja on Gerald: We’re not sweethearts
Maja Salvador appreciates rumored boyfriend Gerald Anderson’s efforts to make her feel special. But she says they’re not yet sweethearts.
“Hindi pa. Agad agad? Sinabi naman niya na kinikilala pa namin ang isa’t-isa,” she said at the contract signing for her endorsement of Tupperware’s perfume line on Tuesday, March 5.
“Thankful ako kasi, tulad ng sinabi niya sa interview niya, special ako sa kanya. Siyempre thankful ako doon. Aamin ko masaya naman ako. Pero hanggang doon na lang muna. Ayaw ko muna magdetalye. Pero sobrang salamat sa kanya kasi nararamdaman ko na special nga ako talaga sa kanya at ipinagtatanggol niya ako kahit papaano,” the Kapamilya actress added.
Just hanging out
Maja also shared the she and Gerald join their other friends when they hang out together.
The “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” actress admits the negative comments that sprang from her closeness with Gerald has hurt her, especially when her family is dragged into the fray.

Quoting singer-songwriter Bob Marley in one of her Instagram posts, Maja said, “Who are you to judge the way I live? I know I’m not perfect and I don’t live to be. But before you go pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean.”
“Aaminin ko na every time na nagpo-post ako sa Instagram, may mga bad comments. And hindi naman ako istatwa lang or bato, tao rin naman ako.”
Maja wants to shield her family from bashers, since they (her family) have nothing to do with with the intrigues being thrown at her.
“Nagpost ako ng ganoon kasi dinadamay rin yung nanay ko, pati family ko. Wini-welcome ko din naman yung mga bad comments na sinasabi nila kasi opinyon nila iyon. Pero hindi everyday tatanggapin mo yung sinasabi nila. Kasi kahit na alam mong hindi totoo wala ka magagawa opinyon nila iyon, pero kung idamay nila yung mommy mo, yung family mo, sobra na. Walang kinalaman yung nanay at family ko kung ano man ibinabato sa akin.”

She added, “Oo naman (gusto ko sila protektahan) kasi ako yung artista, ako yung nasa showbiz. Huwag pakialamanan yung family ko.”
Fans as friends
Maja notes that aside from Gerald, she gets all the support from fans and friends.
“Hindi lang naman dahil may taong nagpaparamdam sa iyo na special ka, sa kanya na manggagaling yung support na iyon at inspirasyon. Kailan lang siya dumating sa mundo ko, kailan ko lang siya naging ka-close. Kung wala siya anong mangyayari sa akin kung siya lang ang pinagkukunan ko ng inspirasyon? Ang dami, trabaho ko, fans, family,” she said.
