Gerald Anderson reacts to 'playboy image'
Gerald Anderson has no categorical answer on whether he is a playboy or not.
“Hindi ko masagot, dahil alam ko naman po yung totoo. Alam ko rin po na nakakagawa ako ng mali sa buhay ko. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve learned from it. Pero kumbaga, alam ko kung ano yung mali na iyun,” he told reporters at the Golden Screen Awards, where he was named Best Actor on Friday, March 1.

He is also learning to accept controversies as part of his job as an actor.
“Kung ikaw, may nagsabi sa iyong masama, maaapektuhan ka talaga. But, kailangan ko rin tanggapin. Trabaho ko iyan, part ng trabaho iyan. Like I said, ang dami kong kailangang i-prove bilang isang artista. Pero bilang isang tao, wala po akong kailangang i-prove kahit kanino.”
Gerald is said to be the reason behind former friends Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador’s falling out. It will be recalled that Gerald, Kim’s ex-boyfriend, has publicly admitted his intentions of courting Maja. He even took her on a helicopter ride and treated her to a lavish Valentine dinner in Tagaytay.
Contrary to what others think though, Gerald insists he and Maja are not yet officially a couple.

“Kapag meron, hindi ko itatago sa inyo iyon. Yes, nagsa-start na akong mag-date. Wala namang masama doon,” he said.
Maja, however, is special to Gerald.
Single for a long time
“Matagal na akong single. And I found someone na gusto kong makasama, gusto kong makilala pa. Masaya ako kapag kasama siya. Bakit ko ipagkakait ang sarili ko sa ganoon? Like I said, artista ako, ang trabaho ko is um-acting pero hindi yung itatago ko yung relasyon ko.”

He adds, “Tao rin ako. Yung mga napapanood ko sa movies, yung ginagawa kong rom-com, siyempre gusto ko ring gawin iyon sa totoong buhay. Bakit naman hindi ko pwedeng gawin iyan?”
Meanwhile, Gerald refuses to comment on an online photo showing Kim Chiu and Sarah Geronimo, talking to each other backstage.
“Wala na po ako doon. Pero let’s just be happy for for each other, para sa lahat,” he said.
