Gerald Anderson said he would love to court Maja Salvador after getting to know her during the recent trip to Misibis Bay in Albay.
“Yeah, I’d love to, kung bibigyan niya ako ng chance,” Gerald said in an interview with ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” on Sunday, January 13, when host Boy Abunda asked him if he’s pursuing Maja.
Rumors that Maja and Gerald are dating first came out when their photos in Misibis Bay were seen online. In an interview during the press conference of “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” on January 8, Maja told members of the press who wanted to find out if Gerald is courting her to just get the answer straight from the actor.
According to Gerald, he and Maja were not close friends before they went to Misibis Bay. But why was he in Albay with Maja?
“Isang beses, parang nag-uusap kami ni Maja… tinatanong ko siya kung ano yung mga tourist spots na pwedeng puntahan. Sinabi niya yung Misibis Bay. Ako naman, ‘wow, parang exciting yan, mukhang masaya’,” he said.
Gerald further explained: “And then binanggit niya na pupunta siya kasama yung mga pinsan niya, marami sila, kapatid niya, pamilya nga, dahil, ayun nga, bridal shower.”
The actor went to Albay with his family. Maja was also with her family to attend a bridal shower.
“So yun nga, nagkasama kami sa Misibis Bay. And we went there as friends talaga and totoo po yun. That’s the first time na nagsama kami ni Maja na parang ganun, with group of friends, pamilya.”
He added: “During sa mga ibang activities din po… parang nakita ko po sa kanya na, ‘Wow, parang masaya siyang kasama.’ Charming, mabait. Nae-enjoy akong kasama siya.”
Gerald said both he and Maja are single. “Parang, anong masama kung yayain ko siyang lumabas? Anong masama kung magkaroon ng pagkakataon para makilala namin ang isa’t isa?”
‘We have to face this like adults’
Gerald knows Maja and Kim Chiu, his ex-girlfriend, are friends.
In the same “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” press conference, Kim said Maja asked her permission about Gerald.
What can the actor say about this?
“I think nangyari yun out of respect. Siguro kasi, friendship is everything to me, and to them. Sa personal life, di po ako mabubuhay kung wala ang mga kaibigan ko.”

Gerald’s reaction: Alam ko sensitive yung sitwasyon na ito. I believe magiging maayos din ito. Magiging maayos siya depende sa maturity ng bawat isa na kasama sa sitwasyon.”
What does he think about reports that Kim allegedly un-followed Maja on the photo sharing service Instagram?
“We have to face this like adults. Kumbaga, hindi na kami mga bata. We face decisions every day. And we have to face the consequences like adults.”
The “Budoy” star said he and Kim had a closure when they split as a couple almost three years ago.
“Since sa three years na yun, I’ve never been happier para sa kanya… And at the end of the day, alam kong ganun din siya.”
