Dingdong looks forward to Julio Diaz's recovery

Dingdong Dantes feels sad Julio Diaz won’t be reporting on the set of their teleserye, “Pahiram ng Sandali” after the latter broke his hip bone in accident on the set of an indie film he was shooting.

But Dingdong knows that his personal feelings are not as important as Julio's health.

“Ang importante maka-recover siya agad. I just showed my concern sa kasamahan ko,” said Dingdong after the Metro Manila Filmfest(MMFF)  gave him his and his  MMFF co-winners their respective cash prizes in ceremonies held at H20 Hotel in Manila.

Dingdong coordinated with the staff of "Pahiram" so he can shoulder part of the cost for Julio's operation and recovery.

The event also launched the MMFF 2013, which its overall chair, Francis Tolentino  revealed will have a New Wave Category for the first time.

“With the growing talent pool of animators both locally and abroad, it is high time we recognize and showcase their potential to a broader audience,” he explained.

A review committee will also be formed to assess and improve MMFF  rules and implementing programs.

The MMFF 2012, registered the highest gross in its 38-year-history by earning P P767-M. The figures are higher than the MMFF’s expectations.

Also present in the appreciation dinner and  2013 launch were child star Ryza Mae Dizon, director Paul Soriano, who presented the awards to the “Cine Phone” winners, Boots Anson-Roa, who hosted the show, film producers and others.
