Rachelle Ann Go has every reason to be thankful lately. Besides her successful “Rise Against Gravity” concert, the Kapuso star was also shortlisted in the Manila auditions for the West End revival of the musical “Miss Saigon.” But is there anything Rachelle is wishing for this Christmas?

The 26-year-old singer quipped she is hoping for love this season.

“Ano ba regalo ko sa sarili ko? Pagmamahal!” Rachelle told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and other members of the press during GMA-7’s trade launch event.

Turning serious, the Kapuso artist explained she can’t say if she’s ready for love right now.

“Siguro pag dumating na talaga at nasa harap ko, pero ngayon hindi ko masasabi kung ready ako o hindi,” she said.

Rachelle further said she believes in “perfect timing.” “Perfect timing lang sa lahat ng bagay.”

Given the choice, would she choose being chosen to be part of “Miss Saigon” over having a love life?

“Oo naman. Baka andun ang destiny ko,” she said.

New experiences

Of course, she’s hoping to be part of the international musical production. Although she’s already among the few shortlisted during the tryouts, the “Miss Saigon” Manila auditions were “exploratory” in nature.

Her audition for the musical, she added, was already an experience in itself.

“Di ako makapaniwala. Sabi ko, ang daming nag-audition. Tapos, sobrang thankful lang ako. Sabi ko, ‘Lord, sana makapasok ako.’ Kine-claim ko na makapasok ako. And nakapasok nga ako so sobrang thankful na ako,” she shared.

“Kahit di matuloy 'yun, thankful ako kasi may gagawin pa rin ako dito. Meron pa rin akong maiiwan dito. So okay lang. God’s will na lang kung ano ang plano,” Rachelle said.

For 2013, she will be part of GMA-7’s upcoming drama “Indio,” with Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. The singer will also direct the music video for her upcoming single — her first attempt in directing.

“So excited kasi ang dami kong ginagawang bago,” Rachelle ended.
