Thai actor Mario Maurer to visit Manila
After winning many Filipino fans through his hit movie ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love,’ Thai actor Mario Maurer said he is excited to go to the Philippines and do projects here, one of them an endorsement for Penshoppe.
“I have to go to the Philippines to meet my fans because I have to go for Penshoppe. I will meet my fans there,” Mario said in an interview with ‘The Buzz.’
Mario will go to Manila soon to meet and greet fans as the new Penshoppe endorser. The local retail brand has released its mechanics on how fans can join the fan conference with Mario.
Rise to fame
The 22-year-old Thai actor rose to fame after playing lead in the film ‘The Love of Siam,’ where he won as ‘Best Actor’ in the Southeast Asian film category at the 10th Cinemanila International Film Festival. ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ was also shown in Tagalized format on ABS-CBN.
Even if Mario hasn’t even visited the country yet, Filipino fans have created fan pages and petitions in Facebook. Mario knows how popular he is in the country since he has replied to Filipino fans via Twitter, where he has expressed his plan lto visit the country.
In an interview with ‘The Buzz,’ Mario said that given the chance, he would love to do a movie in the Philippines.
“If I have a chance to do a movie or a role in the Philippines [that] would be very great,” Mario said.
Possible moviein the Philippines?
According to ‘The Buzz,’ Mario’s movie with Star Cinema is already being planned. Star Cinema also went to Thailand with Penshoppe and Publicity Asia executives to interview Mario.
Although Erich Gonzales denied a rumor that she’ll do a movie with Mario, the young actress said she’d love to star opposite him someday.
In the interview, Mario revealed that he did not expect he’ll be famous outside Thailand. He also looks forward to doing a movie in the Philippines as he sees it as a good career opportunity.
“To do a movie outside of Thailand I think is a very good opportunity because for me, I didn’t expect that I’ll get famous in the Philippines nor in China or in Taiwan,” Mario said.
What’s his ideal girl like?
“I like a sweet girl, kinda happy girl, like funny girl. I like girls who dress up very nice,” Mario said.
It’s his dream to build a house where he can also have a skateboard park.
“I just wanna build a house with a little bit of space and I want to make a garage and next to the garage I want to make a skateboard park. I want to wake up in the garage and walk a little bit and I have my skateboard park,” Mario said.
