Psy Takes Over China with ′Gangnam Style′

Gangnam Style has taken over China′s biggest portal site Baidu.

On October 10, Gangnam Style was number one on the Top 500 rank on Baidu MP3.

The singer himself also made it onto a chart, securing the number three spot on the site′s Top 200 Singers rank. The feat is more noticeable considering local fan tendencies show more interest in local singers.

Many parodies of Gangnam Style have also ensued. One video criticizes the Kim Jong Il system of North Korea, while another is set in the late 80s. Many headlines of local media outlets have also used Gangnam Style.

Psy has taken notice of the new wave in China, tweeting a screencap of the portal site and saying, "Hello China."
