Psy′s Highlights of 2012

Korean pop star Psy, who took the world by storm with his phenomenal hit “Gangnam Style,” will dance his way to Manila for a one-night only concert at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds on Thursday, December 20.

“Why not? He’s the biggest star sa buong mundo ngayon, lahat nagkakagulo (sa kanya). Dapat ma-experience rin ng Pilipinas yung pinagkakaguluhan ng ibang bansa, swerte nga natin na darating siya sa atin dito sa December 20,” Joed said on Monday, December 10.

Although most people are only familiar with Psy’s  “Gangnam Style,” Joed is confident the concert will be a great success. He explained that Psy’s Filipino fans are lucky to see him perform live.

Psy has performed in big events such as the American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and in Madonna’s concert.

Nagkataon na yung kanta niya sikat na sikat," he said.

Not just 'Gangnam Style'

Joed also assured everyone that Psy will perform more songs besides “Gangnam Style.” The international star will go on stage with his crew of more than ten dancers.

“Marami siyang kanta actually. When it comes to performance, alam naming magaling talaga siyang magperform. So, I guess, kung ang tanong na baka iyon lang ang kantahin niya, hindi ho totoo iyon. Marami siyang kakantahin at surprise iyon sa iba,” Joed said.

The concert dubbed as “Psy Gangnam Style” will also feature local artists like Anne Curtis, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Vhong Navarro, Pokwang, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, Pooh, Ate Gay, K Brosas and Chocoleit.

Mahaba yung show, mahaba yung kay Psy,” Joed said.

Will local artists experience dancing “Gangnam Style” with Psy, the way international stars like Madonna, Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and MC Hammer have?

Ma-experience din nila with Psy,” Joed answered.

He assured everyone that the audience will get their money’s worth.

He also revealed that Psy asked that some of his show’s proceeds be donated to worthy causes. Thus, part of the concert’s proceeds will go to Ciara Marie Foundation and  victims of typhoon Pablo.

“Isa sa request niya ay dapat may proceeds or mayroong beneficiary. Matulunging tao siya. Na-surprise rin kami doon. In fairness, napakabait niya para maisip pa niya iyon,” Joed stressed.
