Motherhood is changing Regine

Regine Velasquez’s life has never been the same again since her son, Nathaniel James, or Nate, came into her life.

“Siyempre mas inuuna ko na ang pangangailangan ng anak ko. It's no longer about me,” Regine said at the press conference of hers and Nate’s new endorsement “Pamper’s Comfort” at the Manila Peninsula Hotel on Thursday, November 22.

She added that being a new mom “has been great.” During her recent silver anniversary concert, Regine turned emotional when she sang “God Gave Me You” to baby Nate, who was in her arms. The hands-on mom also shared that she breastfed Nate until he was six months old.

Regine, husband Ogie Alcasid and Nate will fly to Australia next month.  They will celebrate Christmas with Ogie’s daughters and with his former wife Michelle Van Eimeren, who is happily married to another man.

“We are going to spend it with our family there, with his (Nate’s) sisters. It's their second time to meet and they'd been missing him. They are so in love with him (Nate) so we are really excited,” Regine said.

The Songbird is still resting her voice after a bout with viral infection made her cut her anniversary concert short. She assured everyone, though, that she’s getting better.

Repeat concert

Her repeat concert is tentatively scheduled on December 8.

“Right now, we’re still fixing everything. And we’re all trying to make sure that my voice would be on top condition na, 100 percent. So, that’s the tentative (date). But as soon as we fix everybody’s schedule, talagang puwede na lahat, we’ll announce when the exact date is,” she said.

Regine advised everyone to take care of their health.

“I’m trying to get well. Kasi it was really unfortunate na I got it the week of my concert. And, I got hit talaga the day itself. And wala naman tayong laban sa (virus). And the weird thing about that virus is for some reason, throat yung affected kasi. Ang dami naming may sakit and they all have the same (condition), walang boses lahat. Because apparently, it’s not just us, marami pang iba so ingat din kayo.”
