KZ wins 'The X Factor Philippines'

"The X Factor Philippines" hailed Davaoena singer KZ Tandingan  as its first grand champion during the reality talent show's grand finals night on Sunday, October 7.

KZ got the most number of text and online votes, with a score of 55.45%. She bested 2nd placer Gab Maturan, (32.33%), while Daddy's Home placed third (12.90%).

The 20-year-old singer, mentored by Charice, takes home 4 million pesos and a recording contract with Star Music. During the grand performance night, KZ sang The Carpenters'"Superstar" and "The Way We Were" with Rico Puno.

"Hindi ko po inaasahan ang lahat ng ito. Simple lang naman ang goal  ko, na mapatunayan na hindi lang mga biritero at biritera ang pwede dito," KZ said on stage.

Her mentor Charice said, "I feel like nanalo rin ako. Salamat sa mga sumuporta kay KZ.  KZ, you deserve this!"

The X Factor Top 12 finalists, plus host KC Concepcion and mentors Gar Valenciano, Martin Nievera and Pilita Corales joined KZ on stage.
