Karylle inspires Yael in writing love songs?
After writing a host of love songs for Sponge Cola’s new album, “Araw Oras Tagpuan (Universal Records),” band frontman Yael Yuzon can’t deny that a source of inspiration moves him to create music the way he does.
Yael composed six of the 12 songs in the album, `Ok Dito,’ ‘Stargazer,’ ‘Regal,’ ‘She Weeps,’ ‘Walang Wakas,’ and title track ‘Araw Oras Tagpuan.’
Other tracks are ‘Tambay,’ ‘Regal,’ Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay’ and ‘Walang Wakas.’
The band is also composed of Armo Armovit, Gosh Dilay, and Tedmark Cruz – Ateneans all.
Inspiration
Yael, however, was the center of attention since the press asked him if the songs he composed were inspired by rumoured girlfriend Karylle. Instead of directly saying yes or no, Yael tried avoiding giving specific answers by saying that everyone can be an inspiration.
“Well, lahat ng mga friends naman natin and people around us nagiging inspiration natin for writing,” Yael told the press at ‘Araw Oras Tagpuan’ press conference on Wednesday, September 14 at White House restaurant in Quezon City.
Yael then lapsed into the lyrics of the song ‘Regal’ by saying, “Seeing something spectacular and just being lost for words.” The band performed “Regal” for the press.
It’s been awhile since Yael and Karylle have been rumored to be dating, but both parties have not confirmed the real score between them.
Even if the press consistently asked Yael if Karylle inspired him to write the lyrics, the Sponge Cola frontman said people around him have moved him to do the song.
“Yeah, pero ngayon kasi nasa Singapore siya. Well, inspiration ko naman lahat ng tao around me,” Yael said.
Karylle is in Singapore filming her Pan-Asian TV series “The Kitchen Musical.”
'Bantay-sarado'?
Does he keep a close watch, “bantay-sarado” style on Karylle?
“Actually, hindi ko alam ang ibig sabihin ng bantay-sarado. I tweet naman yung mga ginagawa ko lagi, tapos Facebook, so yun. We keep in touch with everyone din naman," Yael replied.
Since he and Karylle have long been rumoured to be dating, are they just keeping the media guessing about the status of their relationship?
“Wala naman kaming napag-usapan na media part eh. Except na kasi parang, 'Hey, you know what? Shows are nice these days. They're you know, quite engaging!," Yael vaguely answered.
