Jodi mum on personal issues
“I’m fine, thank you.”
This is Jodi Sta. Maria’s short response when asked about how she’s doing in the middle of intrigues surrounding her.
She also remained tight-lipped about the issue between her and Iwa Moto, who is in a relationship with her (Jodi’s) ex-husband Pampi Lacson. It will be recalled that Iwa lambasted Jodi and accused her of cheating on Pampi.
Jodi would rather discuss her new TV romantic-comedy drama with Richard Yap “Be Careful With My Heart,” rather than personal issues. Jodi said she always keeps her focus and remains positive since she doesn’t want the intrigues to affect her work and family.
“Siguro kasi I focus my energy on positive things and siyempre hindi ako nakakalimot na magpasalamat sa lahat,” she said at the press conference of “Be Careful With My Heart” at the ABS-CBN compound on Tuesday, July 3.
To whom will she address the line “Please be careful with my heart”?
“After everything that I’ve been through, siguro kung sino man ang next na darating sa buhay ko, may karapatan akong sabihin na 'Please be careful with my heart,'” Jodi replied.
A project she can call her own
After doing heavy drama, Jodi is excited to work on a light romantic story where she plays the lead. She’s happy to have a project she can finally call her own. “I feel very happy, after how many years na nag-showbiz ako, nagkaroon din ako finally ng sariling show na masasabi ko. Hindi naman ako nainip kasi doon sa ilang taon din naman, nakagawa din naman ako ng proyekto na talagang minahal at gusto ko naman talaga. Sobrang bonus na lang sa akin ito.”
Jodi plays Maya dela Rosa, an aspiring flight stewardess.
“Probinsiyana siya, wala siyang ibang gustong mangyari sa buhay niya kundi maging isang flight stewardess. Gagawin niya ang lahat para ma-achieve niya ang dream niyang iyon,” she said.
Jodi also has good words for her new onscreen partner.
“Hindi mahirap pakisamahan si Richard. Nakikita ko sa kanya yung willingness niya na matuto sa work, yugn professionalism. Para kaming partners, sa mga promos, sa mga eksena, pinag-uusapan namin at nagaalalayan kami.”
“Be Careful With My Heart”, which premieres on ABS-CBN’s Prime-Tanghali this Monday, July 9, also stars Aiza Seguerra, Sylvia Sanchez, Divina Valencia, Gloria Sevilla, Robert Ortega, Jerome Perez, Janella Salvador, and Mutya Orquia.
