Joaquin Baretto defends sister Gretchen
The Barretto family feud seems to be getting worse, now that Joaquin Barretto, Gretchen’s brother has come out in the open to defend his beleaguered sister against their mother Inday.

In a signed statement sent to media outlets, Joaquin told Inday, “You have lifted Claudine on a pedestal as the TV series queen and labelled Gretchen nothing but an ST queen. But who took over the role of her parents, worked at the age of 12 and gave up her education to put her siblings to school?”
“Who put food on the table, paid for the rent, electricity and hospital bills when dad suffered from his heart condition at least two times? Did you ever once stop her from doing all that because you loved her and wanted to protect her just like what you are now doing for Claudine?”
Joaquin mentioned that Gretchen never threatened to have Claudine picked up because she became self-destructive – a condition that landed her in the hospital. He told his mom that instead of hitting Gretchen, Inday should instead take concrete steps to save her (Claudine).
Joaquin also refuted his mother's claims that Gretchen has been calling Claudine’s children names.
“How is that ever possible when Gretchen had long stopped taking Claudine's calls? Hasn't Claudine changed her mobile number many times while still owning many prepaid sim cards as well?” he asked.
Joaquin added that it was Claudine who repeatedly threatened to make an expose, the subject of which the family didn’t know “ until bashing began on Instagram which is why Gretchen came to the rescue of Julia.”
Inday’s son added that Gretchen truly cares for Julia because it was the former who “chose to protect me and my siblings for a long, long time.”

Joaquin appealed to his mother to stop exposing dirty linen in public to save their family and keep it from falling apart.
It will be recalled that Inday’s statement to Philippine Star entertainment editor Ricky Lo called Gretchen a liar because she has allegedly done and said “evil” things against Claudine.
