JC de Vera not leaving Annabelle Rama

JC de Vera is not severing his ties with manager Annabelle Rama anytime soon contrary to rumors. The actor said he has another four years to go on his contract.

He said he renewed his contract with Annabelle Rama at about the same time he inked a deal with TV5 last year.

He also pointed to the "blessings" he received under Rama, including the new series, "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum," set to air over TV5 on Sept. 14. He also signed a two-year contract with Freego jeans as the brand’s image model.

In addition, JC is appearing in an indie movie produced and directed by Zoren Legaspi.  He will take on his first mature and sexy role opposite Michelle Madrigal, another talent of Annabelle.

The root of all rumors?

So how did the rumors begin?

Annabelle believes it came from Nadia Montenegro, mother of Ynna Asistio, who Annabelle also manages.

"Siya ang nagkakalat na aalis na sa akin si JC. Hindi niya alam na four years pa ang contract ni JC sa akin. At saka walang reason kung bakit aalis sa akin si JC," said Annabelle.

And she thinks money may be root of the rumors.

She said that last year, Ynna was set to borrow money from the Kapuso Network because her family had fallen behind on their house rentals which Annabelle said was P100,000 a month.

As her manager, Annabelle intervened by talking to Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar of GMA Films and convinced her to lend Ynna the money. Annabelle also opted to postpone getting her commission for that year until Ynna received a lump sum talent fee the following year.

Won’t affect contract

When the money came, Annabelle asked for her commission which the young star gave.

To Annabelle’s surprise, months after she received her overdue commission, Ynna’s mom, Nadia, told the manager that her daughter shouldn't have given her the commission in full but rather in installments, which irked Annabelle.

Will this affect Ynna’s contract with Annabelle?

"Hindi pwedeng umalis kasi naka-contract sa akin ng exclusive for five years,” says the manager.” Ang reason lang na pwede ko silang i-release kung napapabayaan ko sila na wala silang projects for one year. Pero busog na busog sila sa projects.”

In the meantime, JC quashed speculation that his sexy role in his forthcoming indie movie will pose problems with his girlfriend, Danita Paner. "No, I won't allow that to happen,” he said. “This is work and we both know that we have to focus on our careers first and foremost."
