JC De Vera hungry for more as an actor

JC de Vera, one of the Kapatid Network’s pioneer artists when it was rebranded as TV5 in 2010, said he feels fulfilled being an actor for the station.

“Every show na ginawa ko sa kanila is fulfilling,” he said in an interview with Yahoo! Philippines OMG!  and other members of the press during the “Enchanted Garden” set visit.

Kasi nga, there’s something new.

The actor said he’s been in the entertainment industry for almost a decade, although he still considers himself a newbie.

“Baguhan pa ako. 10 years pa lang ako.”

A GMA-7 actor before he moved to TV5 in 2010, JC’s contract with the Kapatid network will end this March. But given the opportunity, he’d want to stay with the network.

One of the things he enjoys as a TV5 actor is the opportunity to work with veteran stars. In his first TV5 series “Basta Driver, Sweet Lover,” he worked with the likes of Richard Gutierrez and Dina Bonnevie. In “Valiente,” JC starred with Michael De Mesa and Jaclyn Jose, among others.

Marami akong natututunan,” he said. “Mahal ko yung learning, e. Gusto ko every time na ako magtatrabaho may matututunan akong bago.”

Frustrations?

Has JC experience any frustrations as an actor in his almost decade-long stay in showbiz?

“Never akong naging negative about my career. And now, nasa process ako ng nag-aaral,” he shared.

He’s done a lot when it comes to television, so JC hopes to do more films in the coming months. Specifically, he wants to explore the world of independent films “para lang sa education.”

Yun yung winowork out kay tita Annabelle (Rama, his manager) na kahit small rate, magtatrabaho ako.”
