Heart warming videos dedicated to Yolanda survivors

It's hard to see hope in the midst of devastation, but the local music industry knows that music can somehow ease the sufferings of Filipinos especially after super typhoon Yolanda wreaked havoc in the Visayas region.

Here are some of the most heart warming videos of artists united for a common cause. (Warning: You may need some tissue.)

1.)   The Loboc Children’s Choir and various artists sing their prayer

Here’s a tear-jerking video of the Loboc Children’s Choir singing “The Prayer” against the backdrop of the Loboc Church ruins.

Even these young music gems, whose voices seem heaven-sent,  aren’t new to disasters. The centuries-old church in Bohol where they perform has been reduced to rubble after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit the province in October. Yet they managed to lend their voices—together with Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Kuh Ledesma, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Lani Misaluch, Noel Cabangon and other popular young artists to uplift the Filipino spirit in dark times like this.

2.)   Kapamilya vocal heavyweights remind us there’s still Christmas after all

“The Voice of the Philippines” coaches Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo collaborate with Gary V., Martin Nievera, Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby, Piolo Pascual, Jamie Rivera and the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra to fine-tune their Christmas song “Magkasama Tayo Sa Kwento Ng Pasko” with the timely message of hope.

3.)   Kapuso stars, meanwhile, assure survivors they’re watching their back

Janno Gibbs composed and produced “Bangon Kaibigan,” which he also performed with Regine Velasquez, Jaya, Julie Anne San Jose, Heart Evangelista, Solenn Heussaff and Lovi Poe. Kapuso male entertainers Joey De Leon, Christian Bautista, Jay-R, Mark Bautista, Elmo Magalona, Alden Richards and Aljur Abrenica sang a line or too. And oh, even non-singers but top GMA prime stars Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and Manny Pacquiao joined the music video. The rest of the Kapuso stars hummed in solid solidarity.

4.)   Even Filipino Youtube singers from across the globe got together as one.

This digital age has uncovered hidden Filipino talents for the rest of the world to see. And they, too, wanted their voices be heard to raise awareness and ask for help. Viral artists Zendee (aka Random Girl in the Mall) and Aldrich Talonding (of “Dance With My Father” fame) led more than a dozen talented Pinoy singers from Austria to Australia for this unique collaboration.

5.)   New voices, new faces emerge to show that the Philippines  will never run out of great voices and inspiration.

6.)   Even the world’s biggest recording artists share their music, too

More than three dozen international musicians — from the Beatles, Bob Dylan, U2 and Earth, Wind and Fire, to Lorde, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry— contributed songs for the benefit album “Songs for the Philippines.”
