Enrique shrugs off competition with Daniel and Khalil
Enrique Gil shrugs off issues pitting him against fellow actors Daniel Padilla and Khalil Ramos, saying that they just want to make fans happy.
“Lagi (may competition). Hindi maiiwasan iyon, tatlo pa naman (kami). Sa Twitter pa lang, nag-aaway pa yung mga fans,” Enrique said in an interview at Star Magic’s 20th anniversary celebration in ABS-CBN compound on Sunday, July 8.
Enrique shared that he is just doing his job as an actor and wants to make all his fans happy. He said that all of them get their equal exposure.
“Kaya ako sa Twitter, nagha-hi lang ako sa mga tao, kasi baka magkagulo lang. Ayaw ko ng drama. For me, it’s just work. May fans kami, may fans sila Daniel, sila Khalil. Fair lang naman sa story, so everybody’s happy.”
Among Kathryn’s lead actors, it’s Daniel who is the most outspoken about his admiration and interest in Kathryn. Enrique said in a previous interview that he will just let their friendship takes its course.
“Basta ako, kung ano na lang ang ibibigay sa akin ni director Dado (Lumibao), iyon na lang ang gagawin ko. Wala akong gagawin na baka makakasira pa sa friendship naming apat. Chill lang ako, cool lang ako.”
“Princess and I” is one of the top raters of ABS-CBN’s TV dramas, coming in second after “Walang Hanggan.” Instead of feeling pressured, Enrique said “Princess and I’s” ranking makes him work harder.
Doing his best
“As an actor, everything they give me, basta I’m gonna do my best. “Princess and I” is also doing good, 40.6% kami sa ratings. Two months pa lang and we’re doing good, yes! Sobrang saya namin. Naisip kasi namin na sobrang lakas ng “Walang Hanggan,” pero kaya naman,” he said.
Since Enrique started in showbiz in 2008, he is happy at the way his showbiz career is going and how he is Star Magic and Stages Inc are handling his career.
Yahoo! OMG Most Promising Actor is also slated to do “The Reunion,” an upcoming movie with Star Cinema.
“Thank you for giving me this award. First time ko ito. Thank you sa Yahoo!, sa ABS-CBN, and sa support ng mga voters,” Enrique said at the Yahoo! OMG Awards on Friday, July 7, at SM MOA Arena.
Enrique said he is now more inspired to do his best as an actor and reach out more to his fans. His fans, the Quenatics strongly campaigned for him at the Yahoo! OMG awards.
“Most of the time you don’t really perform for yourself, but you perform to make people happy. Like sa “ASAP,” kapag magpeperform yung “Boyrfriends,” i-kiss niyo yung mga lola, yung mga mommies, pasayahin ninyo sila. Siguro iyon yung goal ko ngayon, kasi dati you have to do everything perfect, ngayono kahit magkamali okay lang, basta matuwa and you reach out to them.”
