Dingdong on relationship with Marian: We’re at the peak of our happiness

Actor and producer Dingdong Dantes is one happy and content boyfriend, saying that he and girlfriend Marian Rivera is at their “peak of happiness.”

Being together for three years now, Dingdong says they have been through challenges together and are now enjoying a more peaceful and quiet relationship.

“Kung iri-rate ko at irarank yung samahan namin, I think we’re at our peak of happiness. We’ve never been this happy, na lahat ng pagkakaintindihan. Parang ngayon nagsisink in lahat kasi mas mature kami ngayon and ang dami na naming napagdaanan. Ang saya lang ng feeling,” Dingdong said at the pocket press conference for the movie “Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles” on Wednesday, September 26.

Dingdong’s film production outfit, Agosto Dos, co-produces the computer-generated horror flick with Reality Media, Post Manila, Mothership, and GMA Film.

The GMA-7 star shared that their relationship is not perfect, but having survived rough patches made their relationship stronger and more secured.

“Sa umpisa, hindi naman ganoon kaperpekto. Along the way kapag marami na rin kayong napagdaanan, mas lalo kayong magiging matatag. Security is one of those things,” he said.

Dingdong also added that they also get to talk about marriage. However, there is no concrete plan yet as they’re still waiting for the right time.

“Sino ba ang may hindi gusto noon? Para sa akin, darating ang tamang panahon diyan. Hindi pa naman masyado. We’re already getting old but we also don’t want to preempt things,” he said.

Dingdong was also asked if he has met his former girlfriend Karylle at the recent Bench fashion show. They were not able to meet but said that he is happy for anyone’s success.

On new movie

“Anyone in the industry, as long as maging successful, eh masaya ako para sa kanya. Kahit papaano ay maliit lang ang industry,” he said.

Dingdong is excited for his new movie “Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles,” which also stars Lovi Poe, Janice de Belen, Joey Marquez and LJ Reyes. This is the second movie that Dingdong co-produced after “Segunda Mano.”

Dingdong is proud of the highly-budgeted film, which was shot entirely on green screen and uses full computer-generated imagery (CGI) effects.

“Ganoon sila kathirsty na makanuood ng pelikulang Pinoy na dekalidad. I feel very proud na kasama sa project na iyon. Everything is a risk, but more than monetary expectations, ginagawa naming ito kasi gusto talaga namin. This is something we can contribute, sabi nga ni Dondon (Monterverde), we are taking it a notch higher,” Dingdong said. “Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles” plays in cinemas on October 17.

Working in the movie both as an actor and a producer, Dingdong said that he now appreciates and respects more each other’s craft.

“Mas minahal ko yung trabaho ko dahil dito. Hindi kasi siya madali. Almost all my life in this career ay may producer ako, so ginagawa ko yung mga pinapagawa nila sa akin. So, nakita ko kung gaano kacomplikado, kugn ano yung pnagdadaanan nila. So, dahil naexperience ko na siya, mas alam ko na at di ko babaliwalain yung trabaho ko,” Dingdong said.
