Claudine determined to fight for children’s rights

Claudine Barretto is more determined than ever to fight for her children, Sabina and Santino.

This, her legal counsel, lawyer Ferdinand Topacio, told  Yahoo! Philippines OMG! through an SMS on Monday, Aug. 12.

He said, “Claudine is fine and in good spirits. After the events of the last week, she now has renewed determination to fight for her rights and the rights of her children.”

The actress’  petition for a Temporary Protection Order against estranged husband Raymart Santiago was granted by the Marikina Regional Trial Court. She filed the TPO on July 29 based on an alleged violation of Republic Act 9262, known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act.

According to a report on "The Buzz" on Sunday, August 11, Raymart filed a "custody case with application for writ of habeas corpus." Raymart was elated to see his children Sabina and Santino at the court on Thursday, August 8.
 
Topacio also told Yahoo! Philippines OMG!  that Claudine and Raymart’s children are well taken care of. Claudine often posts photos on Instagram of her children doing well in school. Claudine, whose last TV drama was “Iglot” in 2011, is also preparing for her showbiz comeback. She is rumored to be doing a project for Star Cinema.
 
“She has also slimmed down in preparation for her comeback. The children are doing well and thriving under her care. They have very good grades in school and are given all the care in the power of Claudine to provide,” Topacio said.
