(UPDATE) Andi Eigenmann has issued an apology regarding her  mother Jaclyn Jose’s statement that Jake Ejercito’s parents are against her special friendship with their son.

In her Nov. 4 blog site titled “Since Chismis is Easily Spread Around, Maybe Something Sincere Would too,” Andi said:

“In behalf of my mother, I'd just like to apologize for certain things she might have said that might've put certain people in a bad light. I know for a fact that it wasn't her intention at all. Maybe at that point, she too was only being a mom. Just as your parents would want what's best for you, she just wants the same for me, and this time I'm guessing she just wanted to let others know that I deserve it too. (in her opinion that is).”

The statement came on the heels of a recent interview where Jaclyn said Jake’s parents (former president Joseph Estrada and Laarni Enriquez) disapprove of Andi for their son.

Papano ko ikukwento, e ayaw nga ng kabila (Jake’s side)—may anak na raw,” Jaclyn said.

No room for anger

Andi emphasized that she is not angry at her mother and understands that she only wants the best for her. All  Andi wants is the chance to personally apologize “to show more sincerity” to the people concerned.

“I wouldn't have fallen in love with such a fine young man if not for the amazing parents he has that surely raised him well. People who brought him up to be the smart, kind hearted, humble gentleman that he is. Therefore, I know for a fact that it will be wrong for all of you to judge his parents negatively just because they only want what’s best for him. Now that I'm a mother myself, it's easier for me to see the picture for their angle. Both from my mom’s and his. I may not be as experienced as they are, Maybe I have yet to gain even half the amount of wisdom they have, but what I'm sure of is that both our parents will do anything just as long as we, the children, will never be put to harm,” Andi’s post read.

She also explained the reason for her statements:

“Normally, the Andi that learned from her mistakes would've just chosen to keep quiet and wait for things to die down. I would have chosen to leave all this up to God and trust that he’d keep Jake and I happy. But its harder when it's someone else you truly care about that gets affected. I know maybe I'll never be good enough for him in other people’s eyes. But I also know that because I do care a lot, I can prove them wrong. I'm not perfect, and I'm only human. People make mistakes. But that doesn’t mean were not allowed to learn from them and deserve forgiveness too,” she said.

Erap's reaction

Meanwhile, in an interview on TV Patrol on Monday, November 5, former president Joseph Estrada denied reports that he doesn’t like Andi for his son Jake.

“Wala naman, wala. Hindi ako nakikialam, nasa sapat na gulang na siya (Jake),” Estrada said.

He added that he doesn’t meddle with Jake's personal life and lets him decide for his future.

“Matalino iyon eh kaya hindi ko kailangang turuan. Kung iyon ang gusto, sabi ko sa kanya, your future is in your hands,” Estrada explained.
