Andi and Jake part ways
It’s over between Andi Eigenmann and Jake Ejercito, even before they could admit that they have been in a relationship.
In an interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday, Nov. 11, a tearful Andi said, “Opo,” when asked if she and former Joseph Estrada’s son by Laarni Enriquez have broken up.
Mutual understanding
Andi clarified that although they were not in a “relationship,” she and Jake had a mutual understanding since she has feelings for him.
“Like I always say, wala naman talaga kaming relationship. Ganoon naman talaga kami, we're friends. Alam naman ng mga tao na may nararamdaman ako para sa kanya, so parang understood na we're boyfriend-girlfriend,” Andi said.
Her mom, Jaclyn Jose, said in an interview that Jake’s parents disapprove of Andi because she already has a child. Estrada denied this, however, saying that he lets his son make his own decisions in matters of the heart.
Andi thinks her status as a celebrity and a young mother may have affected Jake and jeopardized their relationship.
“Hindi po ako sigurado. Siguro, baka, kasi dahil sa akin nahihirapan, (kasi) I'm in showbiz, may anak na ako, baka nahihirapan siya. Baka mabigat para sa kanya to be with someone like me.”
Andi admits she doesn’t know whether Jake’s mom approves of her or not. She added that she and Jake will follow whatever the people concerned want for them.
“I never knew kung ayaw sa akin ng mom ni Jake or ano. I just know na Jake has always been so obedient to his parents. With me naman, may anak na ako and I'm only 22. With Jake, he's also 22 and still studying. So, kung sa tingin ng mga tao na hindi pwede, or huwag muna. Hindi ko talaga alam kung hindi pwede forever or sa ngayon lang. Wala kaming pwedeng magawa kung hindi sumunod lang doon,” she said.
The 'bad girl' label
Andi admits she feels hurt that she’s being judged according to her past indiscretions.
“Masakit na parang hindi ako yung ideal person na ipapakilala sa mga magulang. Hindi ko alam kung dahil lang sa may anak na ako or talagang meron lang mali sa akin na hindi gusto ng mga parents, ipapakita ko po sa kanila na I deserve naman to be loved. Siguro, nasaktan ko si Jake dati kaya siguro ayaw na ng mom niya na maulit ito. Kaya naiintindihan ko iyon. Pero sa tingin ko, I still deserve the chance and hindi naman yata ako bad person just because nagkamali ako dati.”
While she initially felt hurt about her mom’s statements regarding Jake’s parents, Andi said she is not angry at her mother. Andi knows that her mom means well.
“It's just that mali lang yung pagkakaintindi ng mga tao, na parang it seemed na putting Jake's parents, Jake's mom in a bad light. Hindi naman po ganoon iyon. Wala namang masama kung gusto nila ng best for their son. And if they don't think that I'm what's best for him, only thing I can do is respect it,” Andi said.
Andi's apology
Andi wants to personally talk to Jake’s parents and ask for forgiveness.
“Hiyang-hiya po ako kasi nga they're private people. Pero walang ibang way para makapag-sorry po. I don't expect naman acceptance, I just hope maybe to be forgiven. Kung magkakaroon ako ng pagkakataon na makausap yung mom ni Jake personally, magiging masaya talaga ako.”
Does she want to reconcile with Jake?
“Hindi nga pwede. Siyempre sa dreams ko, sana mangyari na siya talaga yung para sa akin. Pero kung ayaw niya, wala naman tayong magagawa, hindi naman ako pwedeng mamilit,” Andi replied.
