Aiza and Charice’s ‘celebration of truth’

Charice and Aiza Seguerra obviously felt great as they performed side by side in “Power Of Two: The Unbreakable Tour”  at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday,  September 28.

"Tonight is a celebration of truth and acceptance. Masaya ako sa inyong pagtanggap pa rin sa akin," Charice said.

"Tonight is a special night and this is not just about me and Charice and our songs. This is about empowerment, being who you are and still be loved," Aiza told the overflowing crowd.

While performing one of her more heartfelt Tagalog numbers,  the face of Aiza’s apparent special someone was shown on the big screen.  The lady, who sat with the audience, was obviously touched, and the crowd  showed its approval.

Charice, whose coming out was the inspiration for the back-to-back concert, went to the audience area to fetch girlfriend  Alyssa Quijano and escort her on stage  for a duet.

‘Flicker of hope’

"Somewhere in the darkness, she came as a flicker of hope," Charice  described Alyssa.

Aiza and Charice’s songs were just as  emotionally-charged.

After performing a medley of Michael Jackson hits as opening number, it was the time for the two singers to do their solo acts. Aiza sang John Lennon anthems "Come Together" and "Imagine."

The former child star’s voice was impaired, but she didn’t let this stop her from singing.

"Of all days ngayon pa nangyari ito. Pero kaya siguro ako napaos ay para mas mabuksan ko ang puso ko at malaman niyo kung sino talaga ako na wala yung boses."

She emphasized that the show should be taken as something more than just promoting the cause of the LGBT community where they belong.

"We're not just talkin' about homosexuals. It's about people finding true love. Walang mali if you truly love someone."

Guests  Gloc-9 and Abra spiced up the show with their rousing numbers. Aiza joined Gloc-9 in "Sirena" and Charice performed "Gayuma" with Abra.

Among the celebrities who watched the concert were Vice Ganda, Ai-Ai Delas Alas, and Maricel Soriano.
