'Sisterakas' lead stars named Phenomenal Box-Office Stars, JLC is Box Office King

“Sisterakas” trio Kris Aquino, Vice Ganda and Ai-Ai delas Alas and “The Mistress” tandem John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo are the big winners at the 44th Box Office Entertainment Awards to be held on May 19 at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.  The awards rites is organized by Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc.

Kris, Vice Ganda and Ai-Ai were named  Phenomenal Box-Office Stars, while John Lloyd and Bea were hailed as Box Office King and Box Office Queen, respectively.

This is John Lloyd’s third Box Office King award after  “One More Chance” and “A Very Special Love.”

The Foundation created the Phenomenal Box Office Star category last year to honor Vice Ganda for his 2011 film, “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin,” during its 43rd Box-Office Entertainment. The award will now be shared by the “Sisterakas” trio.

On Thursday, April 10, Angelica posted boyfriend John Lloyd’s message on Instagram, where he thanked “The Mistress” leading lady Bea Alonzo, moviegoers, director Olivia Lamasan and screenwriter Vanessa Valdez.

“One More Try” lead stars Dingdong Dantes, Angelica Panganiban and Angel Locsin bagged the acting awards. Dingdong was named Film Actor of the Year, while Angelica and Angel tied for the Film Actress of the Year category.
