‘The Voice Ph’ Top 4 revealed

Apl de Ap, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Ms. Lea Salonga select the artists they want to mentor by listening to the aspirant's singing voice. Each coach must pick 12 artists for their respective teams who will advance to the next rounds of competition— the Battle Rounds and the Live Shows.

Mitoy Yonting, Myk Perez, Klarisse de Guzman and Janice Javier emerged as the Top 4 finalists of “The Voice of the Philippines” during the last elimination round on Sunday, September 22, and are moving on to the grand finals this Sunday.

Coach-judges Lea Salonga, apl de ap, Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo  gave 55 percent each to their bets to “let the people speak.”
Their votes and that of the public will determine the final score-per candidates.

Team Lea

Draybers lead vocalist Mitoy Yonting beat former Kulay member Radha Tinsay with a soulful interpretation of Laura Branigan’s “The Power of Love.” Mitoy, who got a 108.78 final score, got a lower rating of 45 from Lea, but his 63.78%  public votes made him win over Radha.

“Mataas ang respeto ko sa inyong dalawa, hindi lang dahil sa gifts niyo as a singer but for your heart and humility. For you Radha, to have been from Kulay and now joining the competition. And you Mitoy for being successful as a vocalist of the band Draybers and now going solo doing this. Pareho kayong matapang,” Lea told Mitoy and Radha.

Team Apl

Janice Javier impressed both her coach and the public with her performance of “Imagine.” While Janice didn’t do well in the public vote last week, she redeemed herself and received a higher public vote than  teammate and rival Thor.

She got a total score of 112.85, 55 from coach apl and 57.85% from the public. Janice beat vocal coach and back-up singer Thor Dulay, who performed “Climb Every Mountain.”

“You deserve to be heard sa buong bayan and sa buong mundo. Alam ko binigay niyo ng buong-buo for your family, you gave your all,” apl said.

Team Sarah

Coach Sara had a tough time choosing between music student Klarisse de Guzman and Morissette Amon.

But in the end, Klarisse won both Sarah and the public’s votes with her performance of the Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody.”

Klarisse had a total score of 118.39. She received a score of 55 from Sarah and 63.39% from the public.

“Pareho ko kayohg nirerespect and pareho kayog magrerpesent ng maayos at magaling sa Team Sarah. So kahit sino man sa inyo ang manalo ngayong gabi ay confident ako na mananalo tayo. Pagtutulungan natin iyan,” Sarah told her team members.

Team Bamboo

Just like Lea, Bamboo chose the singer who didn’t get the higher public votes. Bamboo favored Myk Perez, whom he gave a score of 55 over Paolo Onesa.

Performing without his guitar, Myk sang “Baby I Love Your Way,” while Paolo performed Rivermaya’s “Elisi.” Myk received 48.08% of public votes, as against Paolo’s 51.92%.

“Whoever represents Team Bamboo, kahit sino man sa inyo, I’ll be happy. Sa totoo lang, nahirapan talaga ako. I was going back and forth kung paano ko iso-score ito ngayon. Thank you for giving me the honor to be your mentor and friend. For both of you, umpisa pa lang ito,” Bamboo said.

“The Voice of the Philippines” grand champion will win P2 million, a car, an Asian tour and an MCA Music recording contract.
