Amalia, Annabelle on ‘Face to Face’? Not a bad idea

What will be the next chapter in the ongoing word war between Amalia Fuentes and Annabelle Rama? It seems that after this war raged on Twitter, the heated exchange could very well go on TV, as what Amalia vowed in her purported tweets.

"MY HYBERNATION WILL END SOON. I WILL COME OUT ON TV AFTER HOLY WEEK," a tweet from @imamaliafuentes said.

But is it really the veteran actress' Twitter account? She told PEP.ph that it wasn't but one of her "sympathizer's". Despite this, however, she did not disown or dispel all the messages posted on that account. This means she approves of them.

Now all of showbiz has been talking about this latest head-on collision of two of the most vocal, fearsome, assertive, and, yes, the least of anyone in the industry who'll take a challenge sitting down.

This is really one for the books, and I guess their face-off should be on the TV5 show "Face to Face" wherein the strength and power of missiles launched from their mouths should outclass even the best of what North Korea has to offer in their upcoming testing.

Basically, it's just all ego. On the one side, Amalia, who had taken Annabelle to task for wearing red on the wake of her late husband Joey Stevens's wake, to Annabelle, who lamented Amalia's use of cuss words in their encounter during the wake and in succeeding tweets in famed Sampaguita star's supposed Twitter account.

"HOW DARE YOU COME TO THE WAKE OF MY HUSBAND THIS MORNING WHEN YOU KNOW YOURE NOT WELCOME. YOU COME WEARING A RED BLOUSE,RED BAG,RED PANTS...& RED LIPSTICK??? ANG KAPAL NG MUKHA MO. PAGKATAPOS KITANG PINAPALAYAS HABANG NAGMIMISA DI KA PA RIN NAHIYA AT DI KA PA DIN LUMABAS NG MISA," posts from @imamaliafuentes read.

Annabelle had since denied wearing anything red during her visit to the Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati City on Tuesday, April 3 and had a photo, which she uploaded on Twitter, to prove it. On the photo, she was wearing orange, not red. She claimed she only dropped by on her way to a meeting at the nearby Starbucks.

But that was not the point, Amalia said in an interview with ABS-CBN's "TV Patrol" last week. It was her showing up where she was not welcome because her husband "hates her and (her husband) Eddie (Gutierrez)."

However, Annabelle insisted that they were not enemies of Amalia's late husband. "Nagpunta ako dahil kaibigan namin ni Eddie si Joey," Annabelle tweeted.

She continued: "Ikaw, sino ka ba? Humarap ka nga sa salamin, itanong mo sa sarili mo kung sino ka!... pareho lang naman ang trabaho natin ah, ginamit natin ang ating ganda di ba?"

On @imamaliafuentes's threat that the veteran actress will go out in the open on national TV after Holy Week, Annabelle tweeted: "…humanda ako after holy week? At sinong tinakot mo? Ako? Nakahanda ako anytime, anywhere!"

You can just imagine how this face-off will turn out, especially if Manny Pangilinan indeed signs them up on a special "Face to Face" celebrity episode. A psychologist would be not enough to moderate, much less an Amy Perez to appease both sides. A police detail perhaps? It will be "bloody red."
