Lee Min Ho back on local TV with ‘City Hunter’

Hallyu star Lee Min Ho ("Boys Over Flowers", "Perfect Match") is set to conquer local television once again as "City Hunter," the actor's first action drama, is scheduled to air on ABS-CBN's primetime lineup starting January 23.

"City Hunter" is inspired by the original Japanese manga created by Tsukasa Hojo. "City Hunter" has already been adapted for animation and the big screen starring HK star Jackie Chan. This 20-episode drama version moves the story to modern day South Korea. Lee Min Ho plays an orphan raised to seek revenge for his father's death due to political betrayal. To reach his goal, Lee becomes the "City Hunter," a vigilante who gains notoriety with his unusual way of exposing corruption. "City Hunter" is a well crafted drama balancing action, romance and comedy in an one awesome package.

Lead star Lee Min Ho's risked a lot for this drama including efforts to achieve a swimmer's body and doing many dangerous action scenes himself. Lee Min Ho's was even involved in a car accident while filming the series. All the work was worth it, though. During its Korean run, "City Hunter" generated excellent ratings ending first in Seoul and third in national ratings.

"City Hunter" also features the talents of Park Min Young ("SungKyunKwan Scandal"), Lee Min Ho's real-life girlfriend, Lee Jun Hyuk ("I Am Legend"), Hwang Sun-Hee ("Sign"), and Goo Ha Ra of girl group KARA.
