Big Bang’s Daesung in car accident

K-Pop fans all over the world are stunned to learn that vocalist Daesung of Hallyu superstar group Big Bang figured in an early morning accident on May 31 that left a motorcyclist dead.

An official police report from the Seoul YoungDeung-Po Police Department stated that "Daesung has violated his duty to drive safely. At 1:28am, Daesung was driving in the first lane from Hapjeong-dong in the direction of Yangpyung-dong on a four-lane road. He was driving at 80km/hr (speed limit is 60km/hr), and crashed into a stopped taxi after driving over a motorcyclist who was passed out on the street." A report from the Seoul YoungDeung-Po Police Department indicated the motorist was already passed out on the road from a previous accident.

The police report conflicts with earlier reports from Star News, which says Daesung crashed into the taxi at around 1:40am. The taxi driver, who apparently was swerving in between two lanes before coming to an abrupt stop at the downhill road, was not injured. Pending further investigations, which include reviewing of CCTV footage, eyewitness reports, and reviewing the motorcycle's path, authorities are awaiting the results of the autopsy requested from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation, which will hopefully indicate whether or not he was dead before Daesung's accident.

Daesung has since spent the next five hours in investigations with the police, who complimented him on his cooperative nature, saying that he "diligently took part in the investigations," and has since made his way home. YG Entertainment, Daesung's management company, expressed Daesung's extreme sorrow over the accident, saying he is "in great shock and sadness over an accident that he could not avoid. He burst into tears due to his concern for the involved parties"
