K-Pop girl group RaNia to visit Manila
Talented K-Pop girl group RaNia is set to visit Manila for a fan meeting entitled "RaNia: The First Asia Fan Tour Live in Manila". RaNia stands for "Regeneration Idol of Asia". This seven-member girl group composed of Saem, Riko, Jooyi, Di, Joy, T-ae, and Xia debuted in April of this year and has since generated a lot of buzz and controversy due to their sexy image and choreography.
As reported in my Yahoo! Philippines OMG! blog post "Are K-Pop girl group dances becoming raunchier?", (Hyperlink: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/okpop/k-pop-girl-group-dances-becoming-raunchier-20110413-194934-252.html#more-id) RaNia had a rough start in the K-Pop industry specially in Korea where some networks banned the "spread leg" choreography for their debut single "Dr. Feel Good". Nevertheless, the talent of the girls cannot be denied as they continued to gain fans in Korea and other parts of the world. In fact, even Super Junior star and Twitter icon Heechul proudly admitted to being a RaNia fanboy. In addition to Heechul, RaNia also got respect from another top girl group missA who recently expressed that they admired the RaNia girls.
Respect for RaNia is not surprising, though, since DR entertainment, RaNia's management, have always emphasized how the girls trained for 4 years before their debut. They had also worked with producer Teddy Riley who is known for his work with Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga,and Robin Thicke.
