Fans who have been eagerly waiting for a follow-up to her singles ''Pag-ibig'' and ''Manong Guard'' this year, and to her album ''Yeng Constantino: Yeng Versions Live'' last year, can expect a ''super different kind'' of music from Yeng Constantino in her upcoming album in 2013.

In an interview with Bulletin Entertainment and other members of the press during the recent MYX Mo! 2012 concert, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter noted, ''This album is super different from my other albums. [In terms of] music, first time akong nag-try sa ganitong genre. Maririnig niyo pa rin ako but because my producer, si Raimund Marasigan of Sandwich... na siya rin ang producer ko sa huli kong album, basta iba talaga siya doon.''

Despite dabbling in other genres, Yeng said that the album would nevertheless be a continuation of her original goal, which is to come up with original music for the youth. Aside from that, she also wants teens to be able to relate to her songs on an intimate level, such that they can say: ''Ay 'yan 'yung kanta ko sa first boyfriend ko'' or ''du'n ko natutunan na meron pala talagang totoong pag-ibig.''

As a whole, Yeng said she dreams of being ''part ng mga buhay ng mga kabataan, parang Eraserheads, parang Parokya ni Edgar, [at] parang Rivermaya.''

The ''Pinoy Dream Academy'' first Grand Star Dreamer revealed that the album wouldn't focus on any particular topic; however, the love nuts can rejoice over it having a love song or two in the roster.

The ''Hawak Kamay'' singer likewise reasoned that she couldn't particularly veer away from writing about love. ''Mahirap kasing iwasan 'yung topic na love para sa lahat ng songwriters. I think that would be a challenge kasi sobrang lakas na lengwahe ng pag-ibig hindi mo siya made-deny.''

According to Yeng, her being single didn't stop her from writing songs that cut deep because ''love is a universal language that every race could understand. That's why with this album, may pag-ibig, may sakit. Kung ano 'yung mga pinagdaanan ko, mga pinagdaanan ng mga kaibigan ko [pinagsama-sama ko dito].''

The award-winning performer cited the song ''Josephine'' in the album that she penned not based on first-hand experience.

''Si Ate Caress (Caballero, her handler) ang inspiration ko tapos dinugtungan ko ng mga alaala ko from the past tapos 'yon, dumugo 'yung puso ko. Pagkatapos kong isulat 'yung kanta umiiyak ako.''

She also described the forthcoming album as something as colorful and emotional as a diary.
