Why Lani Misalucha had to change her looks

Lani Misalucha is not insulted at all when people ask her about her physical enhancements.  In fact, the “New Siren of the Strip” is amused, and open about it.

“Who doesn’t want to look good?” she smiled at members of media who sought her out after Resorts World Manila’s appreciation party for the press.

Lani didn’t even hem and haw when she admitted, “They had this technology in Las Vegas where they inject something – not silicone.  It’s so amazing! Nadagdagan ang (nose) bridge ko!”

Speaking of changed looks, Lani didn’t hide the fact that she had her teeth fixed, not just for aesthetic purposes, but for professional reasons.

“If you do something on your face, no matter how minute it is, it has a big effect on you.  I didn’t have a good set of teeth, so I had it fixed ten or 12 years ago.  Laging nakikita ng tao ang ngipin naming mga singers.   So it’s something important for us.”

On stem cell therapy

One medical procedure that intrigues her is stem cell therapy.  Rumors about her resorting to this beauty treatment have reached her and Lani take this is as a compliment.

“I haven’t undergone it but it intrigues me,” Lani says.  “Nakakataba ng puso when people tell you that you look good.”

Lani is home for a few weeks to perform at Newport Hotel on Wednesday, Nov. 28, when she will sing Ryan Cayabyab, Willy Cruz and George Canseco songs among others with a band.

Thanks to the concert, and her stint as one of the judges in “Kanta Pilipinas,” TV5’s reality talent show,  Lani and her family will spend their first Christmas in the country in nine years.  So she can’t hide her excitement.

“We’ve been living in the US although umuuwi kami every now and then,” she recounts.  “Our kids have vivid memories of celebrating Christmas with relatives.  We’d go to my parents’ house and I’d go to my husband’s place.”

Her children, now 21 and 19, are flying over on Dec. 19 to join mom and dad for the holidays.

“I’m just so happy and  excited, especially for my children,” Lani beams.
