Why Christian Bautista transferred to GMA

Noontime show “Eat Bulaga’s” strong connections with Indonesia, where he has established a steady following for years, sealed the deal on Christian Bautista’s decision to be a Kapuso.

The singer-actor just signed a three-year exclusive contract with GMA 7 after years of being a Kapamilya talent.

"My family, my management and I believe the best way right now with my present career is to be part of GMA. I'm very, very happy that they accepted and welcomed me. I'm very excited," Christian told reporters at the MYX Music Awards on Wednesday, March 19, where he won Favorite Male Artist award.

Indonesian connection

While the new Kapuso is not particular about projects, Christian admits "Bulaga’s" overseas connections  is extra exciting for him.

“It's not just an offer or a project. If we're going to talk of one special thing I am going to do, it's the Indonesian connection of Eat Bulaga. Meron akong sinusuportahan na charity endeavors na matutulungan din."

Christian will be part of  the variety show "Party Pilipinas" and is looking forward to acting in GMA shows He is excited to work with his Mark Bautista and ex-girlfriend Rachelle Ann Go.

"Mas gaganda because of the Eat Bulaga Indonesia connection. Mas makaka-lay ako ng ground work in Jakarta," he said.

Friendly goodbye

Christian also shared that he parted ways with ABS-CBN amicably and he doesn’t want to  burn bridges. He is thankful to ABS-CBN for helping him establish his career.

"There was one day where I formally said goodbye to my ASAP family and the executives. It's very emotional for me because it's nine years. I have so much to be thankful for. We ended very well, we hugged and we said our congratulations to each other. We all came out as friends."
