Sisters Megan and Lauren Young have a lot in common. Both are in show business. They like the same types of clothes (they even have the same sizes). Yet both are quick to agree they don’t share the same taste in men.
So what are Megan and Lauren looking for in a guy?
For Megan, height is one of the first things she considers. “Gusto ko yung matangkad. Kailangan matangkad,” she said in an interview during the launch of “Flique” magazine’s second issue. Megan and Lauren are the magazine’s August-September cover girls.
Megan further explained: “I’m a tall girl and it’s very hard to find a tall guy.” “So pag dumating, wow, crush na kita,” she quipped.
But beyond the physical (“Sa looks, di ako particular,” she said), Megan wants someone smart.
“I mean, it’s important na we can carry on a conversation together, na matalino siya, na may common sense siya. Yun lang naman.”
Lauren’s requirements also aren’t focused on the physical.
“I just want a guy na funny, respectful, and someone who knows what they want and someone who will take care of me,” the 18-year-old actress said.
“Kailangan nakakatawa siya. Yun yung importante. What’s the point kung di ka kayang patawanin ng boyfriend mo?”
Is Lauren even allowed to have a boyfriend?
“18 na ako!” she quipped
“In moderation. Dahan-dahan lang. Ipakilala mo muna sa akin yung mga manliligaw. Dadaan muna sa ate. Ako muna liligawan nila,” Megan joked.
No time
Diverse preference in men aside, the two do have something in common when it comes to their alleged love interests: Megan and Lauren were both linked to Kapuso stars.
The older Young was linked to actor Mikael Daez, while the younger sister to Elmo Magalona.
But the sisters say they’re not taken.
“Wala naman na talaga so I guess there’s no need to worry about that now. It’s just waiting for the right guy, waiting for the right time. It’s all about waiting for the right person,” Megan explained
She added, “Ang hirap to get into a relationship tapos alam mo naman na hindi ka ready, hindi mo maibibigay yung time mo na buo. It will be unfair to the person.”
As for Lauren: “Same. First of all, I’m young.”
“And (Megan and I) are both working, we’re both going to school. We have our friends, we have ourselves to think about so it’s hard to divide our attention lalo na kung nahihirapan na kaming ibigay sa sarili namin yun.”
