What happened to Billy in France?

After staying four months in France to revive his international career, Billy Crawford has good news for Filipino fans.  He finished an album there and his fans in Europe gave him a warm welcome.

“Productive naman yung punta ko doon. At babalik pa rin ako doon. There’s no date yet, pero babalik ako for the promotion of the album. Everything that I had to do in France, it was perfect, all good,” Billy said at the press conference of Hero (Help Educate and Rear Orphans)

Foundation’s ‘Saludo for Heroes Concert’ on Friday, August 24.

Although it’s been years since his last visit to France, Billy’s fans turned up at the airport to welcome him back.

“Na-surprise ako kasi pagdating ko sa airport, may mga fans na nalaman na andoon ako. Nagpapasalamat ako actually. Si Alex, she organized thiswelcome things for me with my fans. These people supported me ten years na. So, noong bumalik ako sa France, yung reception pa rin ng mga tao andoon.”

Billy admits he felt nervous about how people will receive him in France.

“Of course (kinakabahan), kahit naman saan ka pumunta. Kahit umuwi ka dito sa Pilipinas, trying to get back in the rhythm of being in showbiz, performing again. Syempre, mahirap at hindi madali. Nakakatakot kasi hindi mo alam ang tanggap sa iyo ng mga tao, especially that I’m older than before. It’s just a little difficult and shaky at first. Pero after awhile, you get adjusted.”

Although many celebrities use the microblogging site Twitter to connect with fans, Billy opted instead for an Instagram account where he can share his photos.

“I still get in touch with them. They know how to get in touch with me. May Instagram naman ako, quota na ako doon. I’m not really into Twitter, I don’t have Facebook or anything else. In Instagram, I just like to share pictures.”

Healthier

Many noticed Billy’s fit and healthy physique, which he attributed to diet, work-out, biking and swimming.

“Plinano ko na talaga. Kasi andoon na ako, andoon yung mga kaibigan ko to train me, apart from the recording side. Nanghingi na lang rin ako ng time para mabawasan yung timbang ko kasi nakakahiya na eh. Nasa TV ako araw-araw and I was 210 pounds.”

Billy will join fellow HERO ambassadors Iya Villania, Nikki Gil, Kris Lawrence, 6 Cycle Mind, Sheila Valderama and 9ID Band in a benefit concert for orphans of military men on Sunday, Sept. 9 at Naga Coliseum.

“You can’t force people to help others. I just have the opportunity as an artist to share the word (about the foundation). Alam ko namang malalambot ang puso ng mga Pinoy. We are doing this show not for a popularity contest na tumutulong kami. We’re here because we want to be here and inspire,” Billy said.
