Watch out for live-pinning: de la Renta welcomes fans to bridal show via Pinterest

Oscar de la Renta is continuing to lead the pack when it comes to social media innovations and Monday the label live-pinned its Spring 2013 bridal show via Pinterest, offering fans an insight into the preparations and final presentation.

The brand is particularly taken with the online bulletin board, having set up a digital inspiration board at http://theboard.oscardelarenta.com/# back in February; where fans can upload images and videos to appear on a screen in de la Renta's studio and help inspire the creator’s next Resort line.

The latest Pinterest project in honor of the bridal show can be seen at http://pinterest.com/oscarprgirl/bridal/, and was in fact a last-minute idea, Alex Bolen, CEO of Oscar de la Renta told Mashable.

“Pinterest has got a lot of momentum right now, and we want to be involved with people [and platforms] who have momentum,” said Bolen.

Constantly looking to innovate in social media, Bolen added that the company is currently collaborating on a project with rising site Fancy, which lets users organize images from around the web into “lists” and allows them to make purchases, therefore offering more of a ecommerce-oriented model than Pinterest.

Fashion brands that can currently be seen on Fancy include Bottega Veneta, American Apparel and Cheap Monday.
