Tried and tested: Comfort Zones Sacred Nature Cleansing Oil

Verdict: "Despite its name, it feels more like a gel than an oil. However there are no oils in the product so I am a bit confused about the product. It works just as well as a cleanser, even though there is no lather. The product is mild and leaves skin rehydrated so I am happy with the result.”

Tried and tested: Aveda Stress-fix Body Lotion

Verdict: “According to Aveda this is a 'hydrating body lotion with aroma clinically-proven to relieve feelings of stress. Aroma includes essences of lavender, lavender and clary sage from organic farms and is formulated using the science of aromaology and the power of pure essential oils'.

“I am surprised to see that this thin lotion takes some time to be absorbed by skin, but reading the ingredients list I realise it is because of the sunflower oil ingredient (sunflower oil has big molecules, taking longer to sink into skin than oils with smaller molecules). After using the lotion skin feels rehydrated without being sticky, which is great. My skin stays smooth and soft for the whole day. Add to that the lovely lavender fragrance and this is a great overall product.”

Tried and tested: Abba Herbal Remedy Leave-in Treatment

Verdict: “Abba Herbal Remedy Leave-in Treatment is a serum in a spray bottle. According to Abba 'palm oil enhances this leave-in spray to deeply moisturise and improve manageability. Refresh and rejuvenate second day style with a light application'. My hair is brittle and I have used this spray meticulously, hoping for some shine and body. The serum smells of hospital, but maybe that’s a good thing as it works as a cure for my frizzy hair. My hair becomes smoother and has more hold, I can create curls just with a normal hair brush (which hasn’t happened in many years). My son has used the treatment, and his long curls have become more manageable than they have been for years. The product exceeds my expectations.”
