American cable channel TNT has ordered a pilot for a post-apocalyptic show entitled The Last Ship. Hollywood blockbuster genius director Michael Bay (Transformers 3) is producing the TV project centered on the lonely odyssey of a naval destroyer's crew after nuclear war.
Based on William Brinkley's futuristic novel, this project can count on the expertise of writers Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane, who have worked on Without a Trace and The Closer respectively.
The Last Ship will follow destroyer USS Nathan James's crew as it wanders on the seven seas in search of a suitable place for human life amidst nuclear winter.
Yet another project for Michael Bay
Far from leaving Hollywood behind, Michael Bay is also very active in the small screen world. Cable TV channel Starz recently gave Black Sails -- a show set to take place in the world of Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island -- the green light for its first season.
