Solenn Heussaff on making the good choice

Behind the scenes: Solenn Heussaff

Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff is starting the year on the right foot. She stars in GMA-7’s epic-serye “Indio” and  Regal Films’ sexy drama “Seduction.”

“For my career, I just go with the flow. I don’t decide and say, ‘Oh my God, if I don’t do this, what will happen?’,” Solenn told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! in an interview during her commercial shoot for SUN Broadband.

She doesn’t consider entering showbiz a good choice.

“It’s just a choice,” Solenn said. However, she admits making good choices is part of her success.

Solenn  starred in 2011’s “Temptation Island” and “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.” Year 2012 saw her in three comedy movies (the latest being “Sosy Problems”).  She opens 2013 with the daring drama “Seduction” with Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati.

“I was a ‘yes, yes’ person before. Now, I learned to take my guard up, I learned to say no. I’ve learned to take a step backwards and observe people,” Solenn explained.

The actress said she aims for variety in her choices.

“I try to make the most variety as possible para I won’t be labeled as a sexy actress or a comedy actress. I want to try different things and do my best in everything I try.”

Solenn added: “I’ve learned a lot from my experiences the past two years. I’ve learned a lot from the people I’ve met and come across with. The experience builds me as a person.”

Standout

How does she make choices when it comes to her love life?

“I trust my instinct. When I’m with someone and I trust the person, there’s no questioning,” Solenn said.

Her relationship with Argentinian businessman Nico Bolzico is  going strong, more than two years after they became a couple.

“Even when I’m at work and I don’t see him for a few weeks… I’m not the jealous type. I’m just chill and laidback. And I don’t involve him in showbiz,” Solenn relates.

As for good choices she’s made lately, Solenn cites her SUN Broadband endorsement and her movie “Seduction.”

“I think that movie will be my best performance to date,” Solenn enthused.

Solenn maintains that she doesn’t want to be typecast in sexy roles. But she said “Seduction” is different.

“Ito yung pinaka-different. Ang pinaka-typecasting na I’ve had recently is that they know I’m comfortable, so if they have a sexy role, they’ll go, ‘Oh, si Solenn, baka pwede siya mag-bikini dito’,” she said.

Solenn further explained: “But I don’t always say yes. Minsan, may mga roles na they ask me to do a certain thing and I’ll say, ‘No hindi naman kailangan sa character’.”

“I’m always very careful and I know what I’m doing.”
