Shin Dong Yeop, Hong Seok Cheon Become MCs for Korea’s First Transgender Talk Show

Korea is set to launch its first transgender talk show.

Cable channel KBS Joy announced the news on August 23 and revealed Shin Dong Yeop and Hong Seok Cheon will serve as the show’s MC.

The new talk show, titled XY That Woman will invite real transgendered individuals, who know both the lives of men and women, to candidly share their experiences.

A weekly theme or dilemma will be featured to help facilitate the discussion.

Known for his witty remarks and quick thinking, Shin Dong Yeop will be joined as MC for the show by one of his best friends, Hong Seok Cheon, who was Korea’s first celebrity to openly admit he was gay.

Regarding his decision to join as MC, Shin Dong Yeop shared, “I’ve personally always had a great deal of interest in the human rights of those in the sexuality minority. I will do my best to break the prejudices set against transgender individuals.”

Hong Seok Cheon added, “As an individual who is also in the sexuality minority, I will talk honestly with the transgendered individuals and share my fresh and truthful stories as well.”

XY That Woman premieres on KBS Joy on September 6.
