MANILA, Philippines - Actress Heart Evangelista has merely dismissed speculations that her boyfriend Sen. Chiz Escudero is allegedly using her popularity for his own political gain.
In a candid interview with PEP posted on Nov. 5, she pointed out, "Okey lang. Bahala na sila. Hindi naman sila ang kinikilig, e!"
According to Heart, she just wanted to "keep things private" between them "kasi ayoko ng mga intriga."
"But then again, you know... business ko 'yon (relationship), e," she said.
In any case, Heart would rather take no notice of such intrigues because "wala namang magagawa sa akin 'yon eh."
She added, "I'm always going to be open, I'm always going to be honest. But I won't be as public as before. I'm happy like that."
It was only in early October when the senator admitted his romantic relationship with the actress; but according to the latter, they've been a couple for "siguro mga two to three months."
Asked if she ever considered being a "politician's wife," Heart replied that the thought hasn't even crossed her mind. "I'd like to enjoy what I have now. I've learned my lesson. We'll never know. Kung mangyayari, mangyayari. Kung hindi, hindi," she was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the actress revealed in a taped interview aired on "Unang Hirit," Tuesday, that she and Sen. Chiz get to be with each other "almost everyday" to bond over "movies, music, [and] really nice conversation," among others.
"I'm learning more pero it's not something that, parang, we always talk about. Sometimes in passing, like with my work, ganyan. So may natututunan siya sa 'kin, may natututunan din ako sa kanya," she said.
