Sarah’s mom denies discouraging Gerald from courting daughter
Sarah Geronimo’s mother, Divine Geronimo, denied rumors that she discouraged Gerald Anderson from courting her daughter.
The rumors were borne of entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz’s much-talked-about blind item on Twitter which said “G” allegedly stopped courting “S.”
“Actually kami nga ni daddy ang nagbigay ng permiso na ligawan niya sa bahay (si Sarah). Kinausap talaga namin siya nang pormal. Sabi ko sa bahay lang pwedeng ligawan ang anak ko, hindi sa labas, hindi sa text. Sabi ko, ‘Kung mapagpapasensyahan mo ang patakaran namin, ganito kami and nirerespeto namin kayo, sana respetuhin mo rin kami kasi babae ang anak ko. Ewan ko kung dapat sabihin pero hindi yata ano, parang hindi niya mapagtyagaan ‘yung ganoon,” Divine told Ai-Ai delas Alas, who asked Sarah’s mom about the issue in the July 29 edition of “Sarah G. Live.”
Sarah, who was with Divine onstage, interrupted the interview and defended her mom.
“Sa totoo po talaga, hindi po ang mommy ko ang nagpatigil kay Gerald na manligaw. Wala, hindi po.”
Protective
Divine remained firm in her stand that she only wants to protect her children, “para hindi kayo mapahamak at mabigyan kayo ng magandang kinabukasan.”
Sarah thanked her parents for always being there for her despite her shortcomings. “Sobrang laki ng pasasalamat ko sa Diyos dahil buo tayo at nandyan kayo para magabayan ako. Bumangon ako pag nagkakamali ako, minamahal ako kahit nagkakamali ako at patawad po dahil hindi po ako perpekto pong anak. Pero gagawin ko ang makakaya para patuloy kayong mahalin at sundin sa mga aral na binibigay sa akin dahil alam ko po na kayo ang nakakaalam ng makakabuti sa akin, so mahal na mahal ko po kayo.”
Divine told Sarah that the right man will come along someday. Sarah replied,“Hindi naman ako nagmamadali, Ma, muntik lang.” And she started to cry.
When he guested in Sarah’s show, Gerald gave the Pop Princess a clock and explained that it stood for the fact that time will decide what’s best for them.
A fan asked Sarah, “Sino ang nagpapatibok ng puso mo ngayon?”
Her reply showed how unsure she is about her feelings.
“Siguro kung sino man siya, kailangan ng konting panahon para mapatunayan ko sa sarili ko kung totoo ang tinitibok ng puso ko o kung totoo ang tinitibok ng puso niya. Sabi niya, time will tell, and ang gusto ko ay kung sino ang gusto ng Diyos para sa akin.”
Meanwhile, Gerald refused to discuss the issue at Star Magic’s sports fest on Sunday, July 29. He and his brother are bound for Egypt to meet their father.
