Sam Edelman admits choosing Kate Upton to be the face of his latest campaign was a "hell of a decision".
The New York-based footwear brand has tapped the 20-year-old blonde model for its latest digital and print advertising campaign this year.
Designer Edelman has revealed that choosing Kate to represent the brand was a bold move on his part.
“It felt like the right time,” he told WWD. “We had a major ad campaign with Charlotte Kemp Muhl 18 months ago. It carried us for a long time. [By choosing Kate,] it was a hell of a decision to go with an indie girl.”
The campaign was shot by David Lipman at an undisclosed New York City location and will run for six months from today.
The sultry black-and-white shots see the voluptuous model sitting among a floor-full of Edelman shoes dressed in a sexy slip, while another image shows Kate posing on a window ledge with the New York skyline in the background.
Photographer David says the famously curvy model was the perfect choice for the footwear brand's latest advertising stretch.
“We chose Kate because she isn’t stick thin. She’s beautiful and all-American," he gushed.
Speaking about the partnership, Kate added: "I’ve loved Sam Edelman shoes for a long time, so shooting the ad campaign was a lot of fun for me."
