After months of denying that they have split up, Rayver Cruz and Cristine Reyes finally admitted that they are no longer sweethearts.
The two confirmed this in a taped interview aired on ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” on Sunday, January 13.

“Matagal na kaming hiwalay ni AA (Cristine’s nickname), last year pa,” Rayver said. “And we did our best dito sa relationship namin. Pero siguro talaga, hindi naman halos lahat ng relationships, nagwo-work, di ba?”
Mutual decision
Rayver and Cristine said the breakup was a mutual decision and no third party was involved. The two added that they’ll remain friends despite the split.
“Ang maganda dito, okay kami dahil magkaibigan kami,” the Kapamilya actor said.
“Siyempre, andito pa rin ako para sa kanya,” Cristine added. “Hindi ko ibabalewala yung pinagsamahan namin.”
The former couple explained they felt remaining mum on the split was the right thing to do.
“Dinicide namin na i-discreet na lang, na wag na lang maingay, wag na lang sabihin in public kasi nag-start kami, nag-start yung relationship namin na sobrang daming nadaanan, sobrang daming naapektuhan. So feeling naming, ganun ang tama,” Rayver explained.
But he further said: “Pero sa huli kasi ang dami ng nakakahalata, and AA has been unfairly judged na naman sa mga nangyayari. So nag-decide ako na dapat sabihin na namin.”

“Siguro bata pa kami pareho, gusto muna naming mag-focus sa work, gusto naming mag-focus sa sarili namin,” Cristine said.
Is Derek involved?
The Kapamilya actress also downplayed reports linking her to Kapatid actor Derek Ramsay.
“Siguro kasi nakikita nila kami sa labas. E para sa akin, wala naman akong nakikitang masama dun kasi ever since, kahit nung sila pa ni Angelica (Panganiban Derek’s ex-girlfriend), pumupunta kami sa house nila, nagha-hang out kami dun,” she said.

In an earlier interview with Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and other members of the press, Derek himself laid the rumors to rest.
“It's true that Cristine and I and some friends went out and when we go out people are gonna see us. I'm not hiding anything that's why we're comfortable going out with each other. Bro ko si Rayver. Rayver comes to the house and we play basketball together. Si Cristine naging leading lady ko sa ‘No Other Woman.’ I think Cristine already answered that na sila pa rin... I'm not committed to anyone. I'm married to my job.”
