Having taken over the world with his ‘Gangnam Style’ song, PSY will soon be releasing his ‘Gangnam Style’ commemorative stamps.
PSY’s management agency, YG Entertainment, announced on February 14th, “PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ stamps will go on sale from February 18th at 22 post offices in Seoul. The release of the stamps is to commemorate the global success of ‘Gangnam Style’ and the 13 billion views that the ‘Gangnam Style’ music video had obtained on YouTube.
The stamps were given an artistry flavour by blending the classic horse dance moves with cartoon art, preserving the flavour of ‘Gangnam Style’ and giving it a more vibrant look. In addition, the packaging used red colour to give it a vibrant look and make it look more trendy, and is definitely a good decoration for the office or departmental stores. The back of the artistry cards which houses the stamps also has PSY’s signature on it, and also includes a QR code that directs you to the link of PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ music video online.
YG Entertainment’s collaborative marketing department expressed, “PSY is the only artist inside YG Entertainment to have his own stamps, and the stamps are definitely worth getting for its unique artistry elements and practicality. Compared to normal stamps, the ‘Gangnam Style’ stamps has PSY’s unique flavour stamped all over it.”
