Psy Goes From ‘Gangnam Style’ to ‘Roppongi Style’ With Japanese Debut

Psy is bringing his energetic music and hilarious antics to Japan.

Coinciding with the release of the second part of his sixth album in September, Psy will be releasing his first mini album in Japan.

The Japanese mini album will contain a selected number of tracks from both parts of Psy’s Korean sixth album with the title song being Roppongi Style, a playful adaptation of his most recent single Gangnam Style.

Despite having debuted in Korea in 2001, this will mark Psy’s first entry into Japan and he will be aided by the Japanese agency Avex.

Psy had previously discussed in interviews the passionate response from crowds in Japan at the YG Family Concert in Japan earlier this year.

According to the energy-filled singer, despite not many concert attendees knowing who Psy was at the concert, by the fourth song everyone was jumping along.

He added that despite his looks, he had heard many times from others that Psy would be well-received in Japan, giving him a boost of confidence for his Japanese debut.
