Psy Announces Plans to Release First American Single Before November

If everything goes as planned, Psy’s first single in America will see its release before November.

During Psy’s live press conference on September 25 in Seoul’s Ramada Hotel, Psy shed the details of his expansion plans into the American music market saying he planned to release a new single and a new single-containing album.

Psy shared, “The American side has told me that beginning from [America’s] Thanksgiving holiday period, the [American] music market becomes quite active and as such, has expressed that it would like for me to release an album before the end of November. However, as you can imagine, it is difficult for me to create and release an album by that point as I would have to make all the songs before then.”

He added, "But thankfully, Universal first brought up the suggestion of releasing a song in Korean. I’m thankful they found my rap in Korean to be “sticky” and “delicious” but as it is my first global debut album I can’t rush into creating it so I’m carefully contemplating things.”

“Right now I am planning to release my first single between mid to end of November while releasing the second single through an English album,” said Psy.

Psy also added that he′s aware that many are questioning if he is a one-hit wonder - but admitted that he is honored with the huge success of Gangnam Style, and will work hard to continue making his music.

The press conference was attended by some 70 members of the press and 200 reporters showing Psy’s superstar status.
